PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THIS WEBSITE AND THE TOOLS AND SERVICES PROVIDED HEREUNDER CAREFULLY. THIS IS A BINDING AGREEMENT.

Demand Genie is a free Excel-based demand tool offered for academic, educational, and personal research purposes. By accessing this site or downloading the tool, you agree to abide by the terms outlined below. If you do not agree, you should not use the tool. This tool is not a product, service, or offering of any institution or company. It is an independent academic resource and is provided as-is.

2. Permitted Use

You may use the tool for non-commercial purposes, including coursework, academic research, or educational instruction. You are allowed to:

  • Save over your own copy of the tool with your data and results.

  • Privately share completed files that retain original branding, structure, and macros.

  • Send others a link to the official Demand Genie website for download.

  • Modify or extract the tool’s source code or locked macros.

  • Remove, obscure, or replace the Demand Genie logo or name.

  • Rebrand or distribute altered versions.

3. Ownership and Intellectual Property

All macros, formulas, layouts, names, and branding within the tool remain the intellectual property of the authors. Use of the tool does not imply a transfer of ownership or rights. You must not present the tool, in part or whole, as your own creation, nor suggest institutional affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship. Please direct all references and redistribution to the original source at www.demandgenie.com.

4. Code and Macros

The tool contains protected VBA code that operates locally on your device. It does not collect, transmit, or share any data. Unlocking or attempting to manipulate the macros is strictly prohibited.

5. Distribution and Sharing Guidelines

​

You may:

  • Share a working copy containing your analysis results, provided it retains the original branding, logo, and code

 

You may not:

  • Host or offer downloads of the tool (original or modified) on any third-party platform

  • Include the tool in software bundles, commercial tools, or training kits

  • Share altered versions that change the tool’s name, visuals, or functionality

 

Always direct others to the official Demand Genie website for obtaining the latest version.

6. Attribution and Citation

 

If you use Demand Genie in research, presentations, or publications, you must acknowledge the tool appropriately. A formal citation will be provided in the forthcoming academic paper describing the tool. Until the release of the paper, you must use the following citation:

Users are responsible for validating outputs and using academic or professional judgment. This tool is not intended for high-stakes forecasting, operational decision-making, or clinical/statistical validation.

9. Limitation of Liability​
